Criztec Bazaldua

about

Criztec Bazaldua signed a promotional deal with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing in February 2023 and made his professional debut a few weeks later out in Mexico.

The 19-year-old showed great composure and shot selection over a four-round points win over Jose Bustamante in Culiacan.

Bazaldua brings a glittering CV into the paid ranks, and the rangy southpaw exits the amateur code as the #1 ranked fighter at 139lbs in 2022, a six-time National champion and the 2022 WBC US Amateur champion.

The teenager has a stellar team behind him with Hearn and Matchroom joining world-renowned trainer Manny Robles, who is looking to make ‘El Flaco’ the first World champion he’s trained from the amateurs.

Bazaldua picked up his second straight victory in the paid ranks with another shut-out win, this time over Elroy Fruto on the undercard of Regis Prograis' homecoming bout in New Orleans in June.

Returning in November in front of a home Los Angeles crowd, Criztec faced a game Pedro Angel Cruz but produced a career-best performance to score his first KO win as a pro. The teenager then moved to 4-0 with a points win in Mexico to kick start his 2024.
