about

‘Miracle Man’ Daniel Jacobs has proven beyond doubt that he’s a born fighter, in and out of the ring.

Jacobs was 24 years old and 22-1 in the paid ranks when he was diagnosed with cancer in May 2011 – but Jacobs defeated his toughest opponent and returned to the ring in October 2012, and became World Middleweight champion in August 2014 in his Brooklyn hometown.

Jacobs went on to defend the WBA strap four times before being edged out in a unification tussle with Gennady Golovkin in March 2017. Jacobs became a two-time king at 160lbs in October 2018 beating Sergiy Derevyanchenko for the IBF belt and then fell in another tight unification clash with Canelo Alvarez in May 2019. Jacobs has now moved up to Super-Middleweight and began his quest to become a two-weight World champion with a convincing win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr at the end of 2019.
