Mayerlin Rivas signed a multi-fight promotional deal with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing in March 2022.
Rivas won her first World Title in 2015 with victory over Sayda Mosquera for the WBA Bantamweight strap and defended her position for more than two years before stepping up to the 122lb division.
The 35-year-old lost a split decision to the experienced Marcela Eliana Acuna for the IBF World Super-Bantamweight Title in Argentina in 2018.
Rivas was out of the ring for 18 months but returned to defeat unbeaten home favourite Laura Ledezma for the vacant WBA Super-Bantamweight title in Panama at the start of 2020.
'La Monita' made her Matchroom debut with a third-round stoppage of Karina Fernandez in Guadalajara, Mexico in June 2022 with a defence of her WBA strap.
After exactly 12 months out the ring, Rivas travelled to Argentina to make defence number two of her World Title against 13-0 Nazarena Romero. An accidental clash of heads at the halfway mark stopped the contest, with Rivas retaining her title by technical draw.
Rivas put her World Title on the line against former WBA World Featherweight Champion Erika Cruz in November 2023 but fell short with a majority decision defeat.
