Nicknamed ‘The Destroyer’, former Unified Heavyweight World Champion Andy Ruiz Jr. made his professional debut in March 2009, quickly building an impressive unbeaten record with a string of dominant victories across the United States.

After establishing himself as one of the heavyweight division’s leading contenders, Ruiz received his first World Title opportunity in December 2016, pushing Joseph Parker all the way in a narrow majority decision defeat for the vacant WBO Heavyweight World Title in New Zealand.

Ruiz made history in June 2019 when he stepped in as a late replacement to face Anthony Joshua at Madison Square Garden, producing one of heavyweight boxing’s greatest upsets to become the first fighter of Mexican heritage to win the Unified Heavyweight World Championship.

Now joining Eddie Hearn's Matchroom boxing seven years later, Ruiz is looking to re-establish himself among the heavyweight elite and start another charge towards World Title honours as he bids to become a two time Heavyweight World Champion.
