about

Beatriz 'The Beast' Ferreira inked a long-term promotional deal with Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Boxing in July 2022 before making her professional debut in Cleveland just over three months later.

Prior to turning over, Ferreira had a glittering amateur career. She won Lightweight gold at the 2019 AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships in Russia and claimed silver in the Lightweight category at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Despite turning pro, The Beast intends to go one better at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

The 31-year-old is an aggressive, come-forward fighter and she put on a thoroughly impressive display against an unbeaten Taynna Cardoso on debut, twice dropping her fellow Brazilian en route to a four-round shutout decision victory. Ferreira insisted on three-minute rounds for her paid bow.

Out less than a month later for her second bout, Ferreira again caught the eye, this time stopping 7-2 Carisse Brown inside two rounds on the undercard of Estrada-Chocolatito 3 in December.

After returning to the amateur code at the start of 2023, Ferreira finally made her third outing as a professional in July on the undercard of Dalton Smith-Sam Maxwell in Sheffield. Taking on another big step up early into her career, she put in an electric performance to decision Karla Ramos Zamora.

Ferreira closed out the way with an eighth round stoppage of Destiny Jones on the undercard of Haney-Prograis in December.
