about

Billericay Middleweight prospect George Liddard signed a multi-fight promotional deal with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing at the start of 2023.

Trained by two-time Lightweight World Title Challenger Kevin Mitchell out of the Matchroom Boxing Elite Gym, Liddard clinched four National Titles and two International Gold Medals during an impressive stint as an amateur.

Liddard caught the eye with an impressive professional debut on the undercard of Dillian Whyte-Jermaine Franklin at the back end of 2022 and made it successive stoppages in March 2023 in Liverpool.

Fresh from celebrating West Ham's Europa Conference League final triumph, it was cause for further celebrations for Liddard soon after after demolishing Nikolas Dzurnak inside the first round to move to 3-0 in June.

The Billericay Bomber headlined the Before the Bell segment of Anthony Joshua-Robert Helenius against Bas Oosterweghel in an absolute war. His KO streak came to an end but his reputation soared again with another impressive display.

Liddard was back out a month later on the undercard of Jai Opetaia-Jordan Thompson, headlining the Before the Bell segment once again with a dominant points victory over Peter Kramer.

After a short break, Liddard returned to the ring in February 2024 on the undercard of stablemate Conor Benn for his US debut in Las Vegas. Liddard took on an unbeaten opponent and won every round on the scorecard.

The Billericay Bomber was back on home soil in May, featuring on the Taylor-Catterall 2 rematch bill in Leeds. Liddard produced an impressive first round KO victory over Graham McCormack.

Liddard enjoyed a fine end to 2024 with back-to-back knockout performances against George Davey and Omar Nguale Ilunga, headlining at York Hall against the latter.

The 22-year-old headlined his first Matchroom bill to open the New Year, taking on the experienced Derrick Osaze for his first title as a professional. Liddard turned in a solid display to win by UD and take home to Commonwealth Silver Middleweight Title.
