CATTERALL VS EUBANK + UNDERCARD FINAL PRESS CONFERENCE QUOTES AND IMAGES

July 3 2025
“Welcome everyone to Manchester – we’ve needed to switch things up. For a long time, we’ve been the leader, the front runner, but over time, some people innovate, a lot copy and follow, and we had to double down and keep evolving, and here at 11B, we’re dedicated to giving you the very best boing content from around the world. Something different from Matchroom today with the format of the press conference, but the product remains the same, a domestic blockbuster on Saturday from the AO Arena, live and exclusive around the world on DAZN.
“Two guys in very different positions in their careers, and that’s why I love this fight. Jack Catterall, we know the story, he should have been the undisputed champion, we expected him to be fighting Teofimo Lopez just a few months ago until he lost to Barboza. Now, up steps Harlem Eubank, 21-0, and a guy that Kalle and the Wasserman team have been building; doing fantastically well on Channel 5 drawing big audiences, and he rolls the dice at World level. It’s a must-win fight for Jack and a big opportunity for Harlem to gatecrash the World scene at 147lbs.” – Eddie Hearn

“We could have come back and chosen a different route, but these are the fights that excite me, the domestic clashes, and this is what I am here for. Harlem is undefeated, talented, and he’s going to come with everything. A few years ago, I was in his position, waiting for that opportunity and chomping at the bit, so this is his opportunity, but I am here to prove I’ve still got it. “I’ve worked so hard up to this point, we had a stinker in the last fight, but I’ve doubled down, been training hard and I believe I am levels above him. I’m very confident, if he thinks he can come and knock me out he’s got a big problem in front of him and it’s going to end badly for him.” – Jack Catterall
“I’m more than ready, Sam Jones said what he said but he’s got it wrong over and over again, and this will be another occasion to add to that list. I’ve been training behind the scenes for 11 years, working on the art form and I believe I’m ready to go in there and show the world what I am capable of up at World level. “This is the level I’ve built myself to and the level I was destined for when I entered the sport. I laced up the gloves because I wanted to become a World champion, I’ve spent my time in the sport grafting away to get to this point and now is the chance to get in there and prove that a World championship is not too far away. “I’m looking forward to seeing what he comes with. He’s got the bit between his teeth, he’s been away to America, so we’re going to get the best version of Jack Catterall and that’s exactly what I have been training for.” – Harlem Eubank

"It's Going To End Badly For Him!"
- Jack Catterall
“Harlem is 31 so he’s not a spring chicken, he’s been around a long time, and he’s got his opportunity now at World level. His name helps as it carries great weight and is rich in boxing history, the Eubank name holds huge value. Kalle and Nisse have built him well and he’s done huge numbers on Channel 5, so we thought rather than fight someone no-one has heard of in a comeback fight or a 12 round international fight, we’ll fight a Eubank and a good Eubank as well. That’s the reason we’re here and it has to be a good fight; they are both under pressure to deliver a good fight for the fans. Jack was 32 yesterday, he’s a better fighter than Harlem and he’s knocking him spark out on Saturday night.” – Sam Jones
“It’s great to be here and one of those fights that when you set out and look at a boxing career, it’s got those moments where you have to roll the dice. We’re blessed to have Channel 5 with Harlem making massive numbers, but those numbers only bring you to a certain place in this sport. I’m blessed to have 27 years in this sport making champions, and it felt so right when this fight came and Jack will see it the exact same way as he’s a World class operator and it’s a privilege to put this fight on. But it’s the moment now where Harlem will step up, the moment that feels right and the moment in every big fighters career where you have to test the mettle. So from our side, we know what Jack can do. He’s been in with some of the greatest names in the sport, and he’s a fantastic fighter with Jamie Moore a top, top coach, and he’s got a mini Eddie Hearn in his corner. He’s got a great team but on Saturday night, everyone goes out of the ring and it’s just the referee and the boxers, and we’re going to see what Harlem Eubank can do. They don’t know what Harlem can do, only Harlem and Charlie know that, and we’re going to find out on Saturday night.” – Kalle Sauerland
“I’d like to thank all the people of Manchester for looking after us so far. We’re really looking forward to this fight, Harlem just needed an opportunity and this is that opportunity. Jamie Moore said we don’t know how good Harlem is, but we know and Harlem knows, and come Saturday, the world will know how good he is. I believe Harlem has a lot more skills than Jack, simple.” – Charlie Beatt
“I’ve always been a big advocate of Jack’s skill, he’s been World-level for many years and he just needed the opportunity to prove it. He’s done that and didn’t get the decision, so I totally understand where his team are coming from in the context that no-one knows about Harlem, but I’ve got confidence in my fighter. The fact is, Jack is a very difficult fighter to beat and is Harlem good enough to do it? We’ll see on Saturday night. But believe you me, Jack has got the bit between his teeth because he has something to prove. We needed this type of fight and opponent, we know Harlem is going to come and give it his all and we know he’s a very good fighter, it takes that type of opponent to get the best out of Jack. We couldn’t afford to just go in there in an eight or ten rounder at this stage in his career and taking his eye off the ball, we know he’s going to have to be at his very best on Saturday, and he’s in great form.” – Jamie Moore

“I’m looking forward to this. I’ve been ready to fight since October last year, so I’ve been waiting for a date to jump in the ring but I’ve had a couple of fights fall through. You say I’m back, but I’ve never been away. I was out of contract but Eddie and I got together and sorted something out and now I’m back and we’re a couple of days away from starting my quest to becoming at three-time two-weight World champion.
“I lost the World title but it was probably two fights too long at the weight, but I would go until the wheels fall off and unfortunately they fell off. We’re getting back ion the horse and we keep riding, we’re a couple of days away from fighting and I got sent a few opponents for this fight. It’s a comeback fight and there were a couple of unbeaten fighters, a couple that had three KOs, six KOs, but I’m not going to respect their power. This is the same record as me, 17-1, but with 13 KOs, I have to respect that power and it’s going to keep me switched on. There’s not a lot out there of him to look at but I will be focused at all times in that ring so we chose him for that reason. I didn’t want to come back against someone and think ‘I know he can’t hurt me’ or ‘he’s had some losses against lower opponents’, I can’t afford to do that because me winning another World title and securing my family, if I don’t beat this fella on Saturday, that’s out of the window and I might as well hang them up. There’s a lot riding on the fight and that’s why he’s been chosen, so I stay switched on.” – Joe Cordina
“I’ve been here before and done this a few times. I was scheduled to fight Gomez Jr and there was a lot of pressure on that fight so we’ve prepared well, and on ten days notice in steps Alex, so respect to him for taking the fight, and I’m ready to perform.
“I agree with him that he’s a tougher fight, but really and truly he’s not proved anything, he’s not beaten anyone with a winning record, but Gomez had and is a bit more proven, which is why we took that fight. I’m all for taking challenges and when Alex was presented to us ten days out, it’s a totally different style and everything, but I said no problem and we took it very quickly. Some of the other names that were mentioned as well as Alex were probably a level or two above him and I accepted them too, so I am ready to prove a point on Saturday. He saved the day but I feel sorry for him come Saturday.
“He’ll start fast but he’s not boxed anyone like me before. I feel like towards the middle he’ll start tiring and I’ll break him down and get him out of there.” – Aqib Fiaz
“I’ve been in the gym training and staying sharp, fit and fight ready. We knew Gomez was going to pull out, that’s something we said. We wanted this fight six weeks ago and he took my slot and was set to face Aqib, we had a feeling he would pull out so I’ve stayed ready for it and the notice is not a problem.
“They took the Gomez fight over me definitely, because I think they thought it was an easier fight. From my side, I got offered the fight six weeks ago and I accepted, I was told contracts would come through and I was buzzing. Then Gomez went on Twitter and was calling him out and they took the Gomez fight which is fair enough. So when he pulled out I was the first man they came to and inevitably I said yes.
“I’m long, tall, I’m a pressure fighter which I don’t think he can handle, and I think his style is tailor made for me, it’s perfect. I will start fast and I’ll finish fast as well, I don’t think he’ll handle the pressure and I’ll get him out of there.” – Alex Murphy
“I feel amazing, I was saying to me team this week it’s the best I’ve felt mentally and physically for a fight ever. For it to be a comeback fight and know I can be this well-prepared, it’s those small tweaks that are going to make such a difference to my career moving forward.
“I was a bit surprised as well by the last result. There were a lot of lessons learned. Mental preparation was a huge part that was missing for my preparation for that fight unfortunately, hindsight is beautiful thing. We’ve taken so many lessons away from that experience and being prepared for the unknown and being prepared for things that maybe you weren’t expecting to happen and dealing with those things more effectively, I think that’s going to make a big difference.
“It’s not a new weight division as I’m not done with the 126lb division, I’ll still be looking for opportunities there and I want to win my belt back at some point against Tiara Brown. For me, it’s an opportunity to broaden my horizons and open more options and more opportunities. The 122lb division is really, really good, there’s great fights that can be made there and that will be really good for my career. I can make 122, I can perform at 122, this weekend we’re dipping our toes in the water a little bit as this fight is at 124 but I feel unbelievable and I feel it’s going to be a great move for me. But wherever we can get opportunities at 122 or 126, you see that a lot with female fighters, moving up and down in weight to make the big fights, and I feel that is something that is going to happen with this move.” – Skye Nicolson
“Last time was a good step up and a good win, and Saturday night is another good fight against another good lad, and it’ll be another good win. Sunny Edwards touched on it in commentary on my last fight, when I first turned over people thought it was a bit of a gimmick. That gives me that bit between my teeth and I’ve still got it now to step out of that shadow. There’s former World champions and Olympians on the bill and I want to show that I’m more than good enough to be on this card. Saturday night you’ll see a big statement from me.
“I’ve seen the biggest stages with my brother, whether it’s at home in Manchester, in LA against Lomachenko, I know boxing through and through. Last time out was a good win against an opponent that will upset the apple cart in the away corner a good few times. I’ve taken another good fight here, another step-up, he’s had more wins than I’ve had fights and he’s a former champion where he’s from in Scotland. So these are the fights I want to be in and you get fans from being in good fights, and you’ll see the best of me in these fights.” – William Crolla

“I’ve not really reflected on the win as I knew I had this big fight coming up, so it was in the back of my mind staying injury free and cut free. Now I can go into this fight without any demons in my head saying I’ve got to be careful and all that, I’m really looking forward to this, it’s at the AO Arena which has a lot of history in Manchester, and it’s a box I’m ticking off that I’ve always wanted to.
“This is a test and a step up, and the type if fight I get excited for. I never underestimate anyone and anyone that gets in the ring with me, they are coming to take my head off and upset the party, so it’ll be no different this time and I’ll be going in there razor sharp and it’s an exciting fight for me.
“It’s an important night for Jack but he’s a professional. I never see him slack, he never does anything he shouldn’t, and that’s why he’s got to where he’s got to. He’s a family man, he’s down to earth, and it doesn’t matter how big Jack gets or how much money he earns, he’ll always be salt of the earth and professional outside the ring and you are going to see this Saturday a masterclass from Jack.” – Pat Brown
“I’m just taking it all in, it’s all new to me, the hotels, the media, all of it. But I’m taking it in my stride and enjoying it, enjoying the pressure, and I can’t wait to get in there and show everyone what I’m all about.
“’AJ’ was saying to me that it’s going to go so fast so enjoy every moment, and that’s what I am doing. I’m going take this slowly, enjoy it and embrace it, and AJ told me to go and get those KOs and that’s something I’m ready to do. I believe that this can be a road to becoming a World champion one day.” – Leo Atang
