Speaking in his first interview of the year, cover star Kano – who lit up screens as cult hero Sully in Netflix’s Top Boy and has released hit tracks including ‘P’s and Q’s’ and ‘T-Shirt Weather in the Manor’ – discusses his love of the sweet science, the fighters he most enjoys watching and his verdict on December’s eagerly anticipated Battle of Britain between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.
“I’ve rocked with AJ, man,” says Kano.
“If it’s the last one, it will be nice to see him complete [his career].”
The East Londoner, who opens up about his passion for strength training, saves his highest praise for another fighter in ac;on on December 12: Dmitry Bivol, who faces Callum Smith in a unified World Light Heavyweight Championship bout. Kano believes the reigning WBO, WBA, IBF and The Ring ruler is the best boxer around.
“I love seeing a craftsman like that with such technical brilliance, someone that has literally punch-perfect performances.”
