about

WBA World Light-Heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol is one of the most complete fighters in the sport, mixing his KO power with dazzling defensive skills.

Bivol left the amateur scene with a formidable 268–15 record, winning multiple titles before joining the paid ranks in November 2014.

The Russian was elevated to full champion from interim champion ahead of his 12th pro fight with Trent Broadhurst in Monte Carlo in November 2017 and celebrated with a devastating one-punch KO in the first round.

Bivol has subsequently defended the crown nine times, most notably becoming the man that beat the man with a hugely impressive points victory over Saul Alvarez in May 2022 before outclassing 44-0 Gilberto Ramirez in Abu Dhabi in November.

Injury forced Bivol out for the majority of 2023 before he returned on the monster Day of Reckoning card in Saudi Arabia on December 23. Bivol outclassed IBO World Light Heavyweight Champion Lyndon Arthur to a shut-out decision victory, dropping the Englishman in the 11th round.

He is now targeting the winner of Artur Beterbiev-Callum Smith for the Undisputed Light Heavyweight crown in the summer of 2024.
