about

Sheffield's most successful ever amateur Dalton 'Thunder' Smith left behind a glittering amateur career when turning pro in 2019 to work with his Trainer and Father, Grant, at the Steel City Gym.

Smith stepped up in just his sixth fight, scoring a sensational knockout over Nathan Bennett on the first Fight Camp card in August 2020 before adding his first pro titles to his cabinet in 2021 with wins over Lee Appleyard and Brian Pelaez.

The 26-year-old headlined in Sheffield in just his 12th fight and he entertained a home crowd with a sixth-round stoppage victory over Sam O'maison to win the vacant British Super-Lightweight Title.

Despite suffering from a chest infection on fight week, Smith retained the Lonsdale belt with a shutout victory against mandatory challenger Kaisee Benjamin in November 2022.

Smith defended his British Super-Lightweight Title for a second time a few months later, defeating former English champion Billy Allington with an unanimous verdict in Nottingham as chief support to Leigh Wood-Mauricio Lara in Nottingham.

'Thunder' secured the British Title for keeps and added the Commonwealth Title to his collection with a stunning seventh round stoppage of former champions Sam Maxwell in July 2023.
