Fight Day 5K - Catterall v Prograis: St Peter's Square, Manchester
The latest instalment of the Fight Day 5K series saw the Matchroom team join forces with Manchester Road Runners and Run the Streets MCR at St Peter’s Square in Manchester this morning – in the build-up towards a huge night of boxing, as Jack Catterall faces Regis Prograis in the first live boxing event at the city’s brand-new Co-op Live venue.
With over 100 people in attendance, it was another huge turnout – with Matchroom’s Eddie Hearn and Frank Smith orchestrating proceedings, as always.
A host of fighters, including Zelfa Barrett, Dalton Smith, Brandon Scott, Cameron Vuong, Aqib Fiaz, John Hedges, Conner Tudsbury and Conah Walker, also mixed with the public as they pounded the Manchester pavements. One half of the headline act, Jack Catterall, even came to meet and officially release the runners.

Joining the local running community were a host of amateur boxing clubs, including Moss Side Fire Station ABC, Walkden ABC and Nxt Gen ABC Oldham, amongst others.
Matchroom’s Head of Fitness & Wellbeing, Kai Peacock, led an interactive warm-up, before participants readied themselves for the start. As the run got underway, with the tunes blaring courtesy of Run the Streets MCR – various paced groups took in the sights of Manchester at differing speeds, ensuring the run was fully inclusive to all abilities.
Back at the finish, our partners at Drip were on hand to keep everyone hydrated, with Everlast also providing bespoke Catterall v Prograis t-shirts for all participants. There was even time for a press up competition, with lucky winners taking home tickets for tonight’s event.

The event provided the perfect platform for fans to stay fit, show their support and be involved in a truly historic night for British boxing. From beginners to seasoned runners, participants of all fitness levels took part, creating a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere.
Thank you to everyone that got involved – and of course to Thomas Lewis, Natasha Barclay, Liam Parker-Worsley and Sarah Edwards and their team of volunteers from Manchester Road Runners and Run the Streets MCR for all their planning and hard work in the build-up to the event.
